A Sassy, Classy, Gelato-Filled Engagement Session

Rob and Frankie are classy, adorable, fun, and funky. They have both been involved in theatre and they can definitely work the camera! I love when couples come to a session with some personalized elements in hand and ideas to boot! These two were FULL of them and I couldn’t stop capturing the fun.

Rob and Frankie both swing dance which I think is pretty awesome, because I learned how to swing dance way back in high school. It’s kind of like riding a bike; even if you haven’t done it in a long time, it all comes back to you once you hit the dance floor. And even though it was kind of maybe not so popular to do in high school, my best friend and I did it anyway, and look back on it with fond memories. I don’t regret it for a second and I love that these two embrace it and incorporate it into their lives.
It makes me super giddy when I am on a photo shoot and we come across awesome things we didn’t expect like this field of flowers (ok, maybe technically they’re weeds, but they look pretty ha ha) just waiting for us! We had a great time seeking out fun photo ops and I was definitely the crazy person *behind* the camera smiling. I can’t help but smile when I have people like Frankie and Rob hamming it up for a session!
We took a little drive to end the night at Gelateria Del Lione. Not only do these two love Gelato, but it was there that Rob proposed to Frankie! He had an elaborate plan set in place to get her there and even had her family hidden upstairs overlooking the garden where he would pop the question! She didn’t know what was going on at first, but started putting two and two together when Rob refused an open table for 4 even though they were supposed to be meeting friends and needed the seating. He convinced her to sit on the bench near the fountain because he had hired a photographer to capture the moment as it happened. I mean, is that a well thought out proposal or what?!
Frankie and Rob, it was so much fun hanging out and getting to know more about you! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding later this year!
