Annie and Brian’s wedding day was filled with unimaginable laughter, the wedding party (ok, some of the ladies) breaking out in to harmonious songs and dance, colorful shoes, and did I mention laughter?! Not kidding, it was tough to find a moment where someone wasn’t doubled over with laughter. THAT is my kind of wedding to photograph! I don’t think I saw a hint of stress in either Brian or Annie that day which is just the coolest. It was THEIR day and nothing was going to bring either of them down.
The bridesmaid and Man of Honor, Annie’s brother, Andrew, got ready at Annie’s best friend’s parents house in St. Louis Hills. Annie and Kathy have been friends for as long as I can remember. The chemistry between Annie, Kathy, and Andrew was incredible. They were so caring and calm and just full of fun. Every time I turned around someone else was letting out a “fierce rawr” or cracking another joke which I’m sure helped to relax Annie.

I love the point in a bride’s wedding day where all of the sudden the gravity of the situation sinks in — that they’re getting married— TODAY. Kathy and Annie’s bridesmaids were right there when Annie had this moment and the emotions were palpable. Shortly thereafter they broke out into an impromptu “Going to the Chapel” song rendition which Annie didn't know was coming but magically and flawlessly conducted on the spot. If you recall their engagement session, Annie and Brian are heavily into music and that fully extended to their wedding party. I’m jealous. I couldn’t read a single music note if I wanted to. No, I’m not even kidding!

Annie mentioned at one point that she had about 3 or 4 changes of shoes for various things throughout the day and man oh man, they did not disappoint! She had shoes for the wedding (Fancy super tall purple heels that matched her bridesmaid dresses and got her a tad closer to Brian's height!), shoes for after the wedding (Converse!), and shoes (Gold sparkles!!) for her first dance with Brian because they had taken dance lessons just for their reception. She was certainly prepared with footwear for her day and she rocked every last pair she wore plus she had a shorter dress which allowed for you to actually see her awesome shoes! Speaking of shoes, her bridesmaids and Man of Honor (look closely -- they're blue!!) also had some awesome footwear for the day as well!

The ceremony was held at St. Gabriel’s which is where Annie (and I) both grew up attending school and church, so it was quite fitting that Annie and Brian chose that as the church to get married in. Annie’s sister Katie was honored at the ceremony as well with a bouquet of flowers displayed just for her. I love that they were able to incorporate Annie’s sister into their wedding day.
After formal photos at the church, we made a few stops around town visiting The Muny, the World’s Fair Pavillion, and The Science Center before heading over to the reception which was held at SLU where Annie’s Mom works. It was a beautiful room with a view overlooking not only SLU’s campus, but also the Arch!

After the cake cutting, they dove into the speeches by the Man of Honor as well as the Best Man. You guys, this wasn’t even my reception or my speeches and I think they were amazing! Even I laughed my socks off throughout! The speeches were truly a testament to the fun that they both attract and the wild times they will surely endure together in their married years.

The reception had incredible food catered by SLU Catering not to mention an impressive array of alcohol — between the craft beers, the mixed drinks, and the wine selection, there was certainly something for everyone. The food was top notch and I think their guests would’ve been hard pressed to find something they didn’t like!
Of course, you can't be really into music and NOT hire an awesome band to play at your reception. Annie and Brian hired a local band, Fanfare, also from St. Gabriel's parish and they were SO good! They definitely kept their guests moving and grooving all night long! And much like the rest of the day, everyone was excited, dancing, and smiling the whole time.

Annie and Brian, here’s to many years of continued laughter, random musical break out sessions, good food, good booze, and great friends and family to take the journey with you! Congratulations and thank you for letting me capture your day!!
